Auditions for
Shrek
Tuesday, Dec 12, 2023
2-4:30 pm
Rehearsals will all be after school from 2:00-5:00. On Monday and Wednesday and Friday at first, but after Spring Break, they will be daily and until 6. You may have to rehearse on days that there is not school like teacher planning days depending on how much work you do outside of rehearsal memorizing lines, blocking, choreo and notes. We may have some Saturday work days/rehearsals especially for building sets. This show is huge. There are many needed for the ensemble and if in ensemble, you will probably be on stage most of the time. If you can’t commit to this schedule of rehearsal, you should not audition. The show is April 18-21. You are not allowed to miss any rehearsals the last week of the show for any reason. Think about this when planning appointments.
If you show up to audition and try, you will most likely get some part. I do not think I will be cutting any one for this show.
To audition:
1. prepare the first verse and chorus of the song "I'm a Believer". Click Here
2. If a bass or tenor, prepare the first 15 bars of "Who I'd Be" (Shrek's part from the beginning to one minute). If an alto or soprano, prepare bars 65 - the end of the song (Fiona's part starting at 2:56). Click Here
3. Prepare the dance from this video: Click Here.
You must Fill out this microsoft form before 2:00 on Dec 11, 2023. Your parents must sign the contract. I have them for you, so pick one up from me. They must read and sign it, and you MUST bring it with you on or before the audition, or I will not allow you to audition.
Be on time and wait in the hall outside room 409 QUIETLY. It may affect the casting choices if you are late or disruptive or loud. Know that you may have to wait, and may be asked to stay a little longer to be seen again. The Call Back list will be posted on Instagram and the Callbacks will be Thursday 2-4.
